Reasons Why Should Use Gel Sunscreen

After sun exposure, UVA and UVB rays, infrared as well as visible light alter its epidermal barrier and damage skin cells. Remember, even with full sleeves cloth, the skin is not 100% protected. This is why, after each exposure, it is recommended to apply Gel Sunscreen.

Specially formulated sun care products usually contain fewer ingredients than conventional body lotions. However, they are composed of targeted active ingredients, selected to repair all skin, more or less sensitized by the sun.

As for use, make sure to apply it to clean skin free of salt, chlorine, as well as chemical or mineral sun filters that cling to the skin. And remember to get sunscreens that contain Aloe Vera gel. It is very beneficial for the skin you can know more about its benefits here; Aloe Vera in Sunscreen Gel for Sun Protection.

Two options are possible: either a simple rinse with clear water, or a suitable gentle cleanser, rather micellar water or cleansing oil for the face, and a soap free gel or cleansing oil for the body. No need to have a heavy hand and apply it in a thick layer. Take a good amount of product, then massage evenly on the skin, if possible morning and evening, and not simply at the end of the day after sun exposure.

Sunscreen gel has anti-aging properties

Against the photoaging process induced by the sun, and broad-spectrum sunscreen gel contains antioxidants, which are very effective against UV rays, as well as regenerating active ingredients.

These will stimulate the fibroblasts therefore the production of collagen and elastin fibers, unfortunately, damaged by oxidative stress, particularly virulent during exposure to the sun.

It has a soothing action

This is what makes its main difference compared to classic body milk. A sunscreen treatment incorporates soothing active ingredients to calm feelings of discomfort and tightness (allantoin, dexpanthenol, zinc oxide) as well as active ingredients intended to limit the inflammatory processes caused by free radicals.

Gel Based Sunscreen removes tan

The regular application of a sunscreen gel also helps to ensure long lasting sun damage - tan by maintaining an even distribution of melanin on the surface of the skin. Well nourished, the skin flakes less.

Some sun care products even contain melanin precursors to activate the tan during the first exposures. When returning from vacation, remember to finish your sunscreen to the end to maintain your caramel color longer. Also, try our natural DIY recipes to remove tan.

It cures sunburn

Even though sensitive skin is the most affected, all skin types are affected. The epidermis is always more or less sensitized at the end of the day.

The sun care product is therefore not a treatment held for the rash that has contracted sunburn. Moreover, in case of real sunburn (intense redness, heat, etc ...), it is preferable to turn to heal creams sold in pharmacies. You can also turn to soothing Vitamin C Serum.

Sunscreen provides a cool effect

Contained aloe Vera gel or milk, it brings a fresh and soothing side by its immediate heating action. But, when present at more than 5% in the formula, it dries up the skin.

It replenishes the epidermis

The sun but also chlorine, sea salt, and the wind alter the epidermal barrier. Very effective moisturizing active ingredients such as glycerin but also and above all essential fatty acids contained in vegetable oils ( Vitis Vinifera, Fruit Extract, Butylene Glycol...) make it possible to limit the insensitive losses of water and thus avoid having a "hard skin" after a few days. Also remember to drink water, because hydration of the body is essential.

Sunscreen adapts to skin type

Choosing the right texture is also important for an after-sun! Oils and balms are the most nourishing, while milk and gels are the most refreshing, if not the fastest to be absorbed by the epidermis.

The former is therefore ideal for very sensitive and dry skin. However, it is possible to use fluid milk or a gel, alternating with a multi purpose beauty oil (hair, body, face), or even to mix milk + oil, if you want even more efficiency.

It is suitable for sensitive skin areas

If possible, it is best to apply a different treatment to the face, as the skin on the face needs a lot more hydration and lipids to regenerate.

This is especially true if the skin is inherently dry or very sensitive. Instead, turn to a cream formula or even a balm if the epidermis is very dry, for the face and neck, and to a milk, gel, or oil texture for the rest of the body.

In the evening we continue to apply the night cream before bedtime. Unless it is a treating treatment, rich in active ingredients potentially irritating with the sun, such as retinol or vitamin C serum.

More generally, fragile areas that are very exposed to the sun, such as the face, neck, must be spared: makeup carefully to rid the skin of sun filters, before applying the sunscreen. We insist on the after sun on fragile and very exposed areas such as the entire neckline, shoulders, or the bottom of the neck.

You can wear makeup over the gel based sunscreen

Water-resistance Sunscreen with a sun protection factor of 50 or SPF 30 for the face is perfectly suited to play the role of both a moisturizer and a makeup base. As the skin is already tanned, then all you have to do is apply a little mattifying powder, a touch of blush or sun powder, plus a touch of gloss.

Tip: reapply sunscreen after three to four hours to protect skin from the sun.
